When to Weigh Your Puppy

For the first 8 weeks, weekly weigh-ins help identify early nutritional issues. After that, monthly tracking is usually sufficient unless your vet recommends more frequent monitoring. Consistent growth not speed is what matters most.

Weigh weekly for young puppies

Puppies under 8 weeks should ideally be weighed every week to catch underfeeding early.

Sudden drops are a signal

A puppy losing weight two days in a row warrants a vet call. Gradual gain is normal and expected.

Use a consistent scale

Small changes matter. Use the same scale each time for accurate trend data.
